Simple Summer Strawberry Delight Cake

1 box white or vanilla cake mix
1 qt. strawberries
1/2 c. sugar
1 container Cool Whip

Prepare cake mix as directed. Slice strawberries, sprinkle with sugar. Use a toothpick to make small holes in baked cake. Drain strawberry juice in cake holes. Apply Cool Whip to cake as icing. Decorate cake with sliced strawberries.
