Honey Raisin Cake (without Honey)

1 c. raisins
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp. orange juice or vanilla
2 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
Pinch salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon

Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cloves and cinnamon. Cook 1 cup raisins in 3 cups water. Boil down to 1 cup of water and drain. Cool water and raisins separately about 1 hour. Cream Crisco and sugar. Add eggs and juice. Alternate flour mixture and water from raisins at lowest speed. Sprinkle in raisins. Grease and flour tube pan. Bake 1 hour 50 minutes at 350 degrees and 10 minutes at 325 degrees.
