Brown Sugar Pound Cake

3/4 c. margarine, softened
1 lb. brown sugar
5 egg yolks, beaten
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. nuts, chopped
3 c. flour
3/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. white sugar
5 egg whites, beaten stiff
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening, margarine and sugar until creamy. Add beaten egg yolks and vanilla. Add dry ingredients (after mixing yolks and vanilla) alternating with milk. When mixed well, add nuts. Fold in egg whites. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or until firm. Frost with a glaze of confectioners sugar.
