Black Walnut Pound Cake

2 sticks butter or margarine
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. white sugar
1 box light brown sugar
5 eggs
3 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped black walnuts

Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk. Add vanilla, then stir in walnuts. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
