Surprise Candy Teacakes

1 c Margarine or butter, softene
1/2 c Powdered sugar
1 ts Vanilla
2 1/4 c All-purpose flour*
1/2 c Finely chopped nuts
12 Vanilla caramel candies, cut into Fourths or 1 Bar sweet cooking chocolate, Into 1/2-inch squares
1/4 ts Salt
Powdered sugar

*do not use self-rising flour in This recipe.

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix margarine, 1/2 cup powdered sugar and the vanilla. Stir in flour, nuts and salt until dough holds together. Shape dough around pieces of caramels or chocolate to form 1-inch balls. Place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until set but not brown.Roll in powdered sugar while warm; cool. Roll in powdered sugar again. ABOUT 4 DOZEN COOKIES
