Rhubarb Pudding Cake

Cake:
1 Egg, beaten
1 1/2 c Sugar
2 tb Shortening
1/2 c Milk
1 1/4 c Flour
3 1/2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
Topping:

3 c Diced Rhubarb
1 c Sugar (heaping cup)
2 c Boiling water

Combine cake recipe ingredients, and mix well. Spread in well greased 9x13 pan. (You can use 8-9 inch square pan if you like the cake to be thicker). Combine Topping Ingredients, and pour over cake batter. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes or until cake is golden brown.
