English Oatcakes

3 c Rolled oats
3 c White flour
1 1/2 c Margarine
1 c Sugar
2 ts Salt; or less
1 ts Baking soda
1/2 c Cold water

Combine dry ingredients. Work in margarine with your fingers or with a pastry blender. Add water a little at a time until dough is right to roll. Sprinkle counter with rolled oats before rolling out dough about a half-inch (2-cm) thickness. Cut out cookies with a round cookie cutter. Bake for 350F (180 C) for 15 minutes.
